High Water Chapel

Salt air, and a place to sit with it.

A small coastal chapel where fishermen, summer people and year-rounders sit in the same pews and watch the same weather.

A working harbour, and a church on it

High Water sits at the top of the harbour lane, close enough that you can hear the boats from the back pew. The congregation swells in July and shrinks to sixty in February, and both are the real church.

The service is short and unhurried. There is always coffee, usually a chowder in winter, and no expectation whatsoever about how often you come.
